Here we are! With the exception of those who take their holidays in September, the vast majority of activities have now officially ‘restarted’. It goes without saying that returning from holiday is often a real trauma, especially for those who have been able to switch off completely during their well-deserved days off and make room for pleasant and relaxing habits. How to sweeten the infamous return to work? Here, too, technologycomes to the rescue. Obviously – and here it doesn’t take a genius to figure this out – the first fundamental step is to accept that the holidays are over and to avoid absolutely unnecessary complaints or constant appeals to the calendar in search of the next holiday.

Eating habits and fitness

But let’s come to friendly technology. When you’re on holiday, quite rightly, you don’t have to worry so much about your diet: big binges or lunches or dinners at restaurants are almost the order of the day… it’s unthinkable to reproduce this habit at work: as well as gaining weight, do you know how these binges can affect sleepiness after lunch? On the other hand, it is also not a good idea to come back from holiday and go on a drastic diet, as this causes additional stress. It’s all about improving your eating habits: there are many apps to help us, some of which allow you to vary your food and therefore the nutrients you take in without giving up, and they do this by combining this process with a gaming activity. Some of these apps also integrate with fitnessapps, which, as is well known, allow you to gain physical and mental well-being. For the more observant, there are apps that even read food labels, so you can learn more about what you eat and make informed choices.

Recommended apps: Noom Coach, My FitnessPal, Edo, Strava, Runtastic.

Attention to sleep quality

We have already mentioned the drowsiness that can occur in connection with digestion. In fact, it should be taken into account that, regardless of the food, when you are on holiday you sleep a little longer and thus alter your usual sleeppattern. One solution that is sure to have an impact concerns the alarm clock: rather than resorting to annoying alarms, why not choose personalised music that allows a soft wake-up? There are apps that allow you to personalise the alarm signal even by playing the news of the day to start the day informed or with the weather. There are also apps that, in addition to the alarm clock, also analyse sleep, using an algorithm to schedule waking up at the best time.

Recommended apps: AlarmMon, Sleep Time.

Addio divertimento!? Giammai!

App consigliate: The Fork, Agoda.

A tidy work station

Finally, and here we come directly to the business context, there are those who see the return from their summer holidays as an opportunity to restart in all senses by refreshing their workplace. If it hasn’t already been done before the holidays, cleaning the desk, putting things back in order, filing and making room for new things and new ideas is essential to get off on the right foot. We’re not just talking about the desk we sit at, but also the virtual one…does the word desktop mean anything to you?! There are apps that allow you to customise every aspect of your desktop using preset templates or by creating your own ideal desktop. Obviously, we must not forget the apps that take care of cleaning your PC, but also tablets and smartphones, at the software level, making the various devices perform better.

Recommended app: Rainmeter.
